Hathaway will stay in Philadelphia after a successful first season with the Flyers and has signed a two-year, $4.8 million ($2,400,000 AAV) contract extension on Monday. The 32-year-old veteran is entering his ninth NHL season and had seven goals, 17 points and 103 SOG in 82 games played in 2023-24.

Hathaway had 13 goals, nine assists, 88 SOG, 69 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 74 games played with both Boston and Washington in 2022-23 and has agreed to a two-year contract worth $4.75 million ($2.375M AAV) with Philadelphia. The 31-year-old right winger is set to join his fourth NHL team, bringing 58 goals and 122 points through 457 career games played.



Hathaway has nine goals, seven assists, 70 SOG, 52 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 59 games this season but will be a healthy scratch Thursday as Washington plans on moving him before the March 3rd trade deadline. Both Hathaway and Dimitry Orlov will be held out of Washington's lineup for trade purposes.


Hathaway joins Trevor van Riemsdyk and Nic Dowd on the COVID-19 protocol list and will not be available for Monday's game vs. the Ducks. With Hathaway out, either Daniel Sprong or Michael Sgarbossa will draw into the lineup.
