Henrik Borgstrom has been recalled from Hershey (AHL) and will make his Capitals debut Tuesday.

Borgstrom had eight goals, 13 assists, 10 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 54 games with Hershey (AHL) this season and has been called up to Washington to make his Capitals debut Tuesday. The 25-year-old has previously played in 110 NHL games, picking up 13 goals, 13 assists, and 104 SOG.

The Capitals have signed Henrik Borgstrom to a one-year, two-way contract.

Borgstrom was the No.23 overall pick in 2016 and was traded to Chicago in 2021. He never really carved out a large role with the Blackhawks, finishing the 2022 season with just seven points (4G / 3A) in 52 games. In Washington, he'll likely start the season with Hershey (AHL) but could be the first call-up when the Capitals are in need of a centre.

The Blackhawks have replaced Henrik Borgstrom (illness) on IR.

Borgstrom is dealing with a non-COVID illness that will force him to miss a second straight game on Wednesday. The move to IR means he will miss at least one more game but is eligible to return to the lineup Saturday in Dallas if he's healthy.

Borgstrom (non-COVID illness) will not play on Saturday.

Borgstrom was promoted to the top line and scored a goal in Thursday's win in Montreal but will not be available on Saturday. With Borgstrom out, Dylan Strome will re-enter the lineup and Kirby Dach will be promoted to the top line.

The Blackhawks have signed Henrik Borgström to a two-year deal worth $2.0 million ($1.0M AAV).

Borgström was a first-round pick (No.23 overall) in 2016 and was traded to Chicago in the deal that sent Lucas Wallmark and Lucas Carlsson to the Panthers. Borgström spent the 2021 season in Finland, where he had 11 goals and 10 assists (21 points) in 30 games. In 58 career NHL games with Florida, the 23-year-old has tallied nine goals and 10 assists (19 points).

The Panthers have assigned Henrik Borgstrom to Springfield (AHL).

Borgstrom seemed like a lock to make the Panthers’ opening night lineup as a third line centre or winger, but he will start the year in the AHL. The 6-foot-3, former first-round pick (No. 23 overall) turned pro at the end of last season after compiling 23 goals and 29 assists (52 points) in 40 games at the University of Denver.
