Jack Eichel News

Eichel missed the Golden Knights' previous game due to an undisclosed injury and will not play Tuesday vs. Seattle as well. The 26-year-old has 27 goals, 38 assists, 221 SOG, four PIMs and a +25 plus/minus through 66 games prior to the injury.

Eichel has not played since Dec. 9th due to a lower-body injury but was skating at Vegas' practice Wednesday and is expected to rejoin their lineup Thursday centring the second line. Eichel was having a strong season prior to the injury, with 13 goals, 16 assists, 100 SOG and a +17 plus/minus through 27 games.

Eichel missed the Golden Knights' previous game due to a lower-body injury and was placed on the injured reserve Monday retroactive to Friday, meaning he will be out for at least the next two games. The 26-year-old was on pace to have his best season to date, with 13 goals, 29 points, 100 SOG and a +17 plus/minus through 27 games played prior to the injury.

Eichel has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will be a game-time decision on Friday. Monitor Eichel's status as the Golden Knights hit the ice for warmups at 9:30 PM ET.

Eichel left Saturday's game in Detroit with a lower-body injury and is questionable to play Monday in Boston. Monitor his status during the Golden Knights morning skate or during warmups at 6:30 PM ET.

Golden Knights' head coach Pete DeBoer did not have an update on Eichel's status postgame, only telling reporters "he didn't come back, so that's not good." He added that Eichel will be evaluated on Friday and hopefully they will know more then. At this point, Eichel is questionable to play Saturday vs. the Kings.

Eichel was acquired from the Sabres in early November and has been cleared to make his debut on Wednesday after missing the first four and a half months following neck surgery. To make room for Eichel, the Golden Knights had to put Mark Stone (back) on LTIR. Eichel will start on the top line with Max Pacioretty and Evgenii Dadonov in his debut, as well as the top power-play unit.

Eichel removed the no-contact jersey and was a full participant in Monday's practice. Eichel skated on the "fifth" line with Nolan Patrick and Michael Amadio, so he's not ready to play yet, but he is nearing his Golden Knights debut.

Eichel suffered a neck injury on May 7th and is expected to need surgery to repair a herniated disc. According to the Sabres, Eichel is expected to be healthy and ready to play at the beginning of the 2021-22 season.

Eichel underwent further testing this week and head coach Ralph Krueger announced that he's out indefinitely. The Sabres said they could not put a timeline on Eichel's return, so expect him to miss an extended period of time.

Eichel was in some discomfort following a hit in Sunday's game but finished the game. Eichel is considered day-to-day for now but there are rumblings that he could be out for a longer period of time. The Sabres would not confirm that, so he's likely undergoing further evaluation.
