Hughes did not travel to Buffalo for Monday's game and isn't ready to play Tuesday back in New Jersey. This is the third straight game that Hughes has missed but the Devils reiterated that he is day-to-day and could be back for their next game.
Hughes missed Saturday's game and will not play Monday in Buffalo and remains day-to-day with a lower-body issue. The Devils will host the Golden Knights tomorrow night, so it's entirely possible that Hughes returns to the lineup on home-ice.
Hughes missed Friday's practice with a lower-body injury that he suffered while blocking a shot in Montreal. Luckily for the Devils, Kevin Rooney is ready to return from injury, replacing Hughes up-front. Hughes should be considered questionable heading into their Monday/Tuesday back-to-back.
