Johnson (lower body) is expected to return to Colorado's lineup Friday vs. Los Angeles.

Sam Malinski will be a healthy scratch on Friday, allowing Johson to draw back into the lineup after a one-game absence due to a lower-body injury. Johnson has been held without a point in eight straight games and will likely play on the third defensive pair with Bowen Byram.

Jack Johnson
Johnson (lower body) will be out Wednesday and is considered day-to-day.

Johnson missed time with a lower-body injury earlier this season and will be sidelined again, starting with Wednesday's contest against the Washington Capitals. The 37-year-old Johnson has zero points, seven hits, and six shots in his last eight games.

Jones will start Thursday in Calgary.

Despite starting three games during the Maple Leafs' current four-game losing streak, Jones remains the best option between the pipes and will start on Thursday. Despite his most recent struggles, Jones is still sporting a solid 2.36 GAA and .922 SV% in 15 games (8-5-1) since being called up last month. The Maple Leafs are -131 road favourites on Thursday when they visit the Calgary Flames, winners of four straight.

Joens will start Tuesday in Edmonton.

After starting seven straight games, Jones had the night off on Sunday in a 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings but will return to the crease in Edmonton on Monday. After allowing one or fewer goals in four straight games (4-0-0), posting a sensational .972 SV%, Jones has dropped two straight (0-1-1), allowing four goals in each while showcasing a subpar .872 SV%. The Maple Leafs are +136 road underdogs against a red-hot Oilers club riding a 10-game winning streak.

Jones will start Thursday vs. the Islanders.

The Maple Leafs recalled Ilya Samsonov on Wednesday, reassigning Dennis Hildeby to the Toronto Marlies. However, they will stick with Jones between the pipes as he searches for his fifth straight victory. The Maple Leafs will likely continue to ride with Jones as he has been sensational for them since initially being recalled in early December, posting a 1.98 GAA and .934 SV%, along with two shutouts in 12 games (8-3-0).

Jones will start Tuesday vs. San Jose.

Jones has become the de facto starting goalie for the Maple Leafs, with a struggling Ilya Samsonov in the minors and Joseph Woll recovering from a lower-body injury, and will start for the fifth straight game on Tuesday. Since taking the reigns between the pipes for the Maple Leafs, Jones has been sensational, highlighted by a three-game winning streak where he has allowed one or fewer goals in each contest, posting an outstanding .976 SV%. Jones and the Maple Leafs have a favourable matchup on Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks, whom they defeated 4-1 in their previous outing, thanks in part to a 23-save performance from Jones (.958 SV%).

Jones will start Saturday in San Jose.

Jones will make his seventh straight start as he goes for his fourth consecutive win in a juicy matchup Saturday in San Jose. The 33-year-old signed a one-year, $875,000 contract in the offseason with Toronto and has been their saviour as of late with his 6-3-0 record, 2.20 GAA, .930 SV% and two shutouts. He heads to San Jose for a rare home and home battle. The Sharks are looking to snap a horrendous 10-game losing streak but bring little offence as they are last in the NHL in both goals per game (2.03) and shots per game (2.54).

Jones will start in Anaheim on Wednesday.

Jones will make the rare start on back-to-back nights for the Leafs on Wednesday as head coach Sheldon Keefe opts against handing an NHL debut to 22-year-old Dennis Hildeby. You can understand the rationale given Jones' dominance against the Kings on Tuesday, stopping all 31 shots he faced enroute to a 3-0 shutout victory in Los Angeles. Jones now owns an impressive .926 SV% on the season to go along with his 5-3-0 record. Even with the added fatigue of playing two games in as many nights, Jones and the Maple Leafs still find themselves as -210 favourites in Anaheim on Wednesday.

Martin Jones
Jones will start in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

With Ilya Samsonov being placed on waivers and subsequently being reassigned to the Toronto Marlies over the weekend, Jones has solidified himself as the starting goalie for the Maple Leafs for the time being. The Maple Leafs recalled Dennis Hildeby, who will likely start on the back end of a back-to-back against the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow. Jones will appear between the pipes for the Leafs for the seventh time in the last eight games, posting a 2-3-0 record over the stretch and a serviceable .919 SV%. The Maple Leafs, losers of three straight, are +115 road underdogs against the Los Angeles Kings.

Martin Jones will start Wednesday vs. Ottawa.

The Maple Leafs will turn to Jones again, his fourth start in the last five games, as he has been more reliable than Ilya Samsonov between the pipes. Jones has been serviceable in limited action this season, posting a 2.79 GAA and .917 SV% through six appearances (4-1-0). The veteran netminder has failed to record a save percentage above .900 since the 2017-18 season (.915 SV%) as a member of the San Jose Sharks but has a favourable matchup Wednesday (-170 home favourites) against an Ottawa Senators team that has lost six of their last seven (1-6-0).
