Silfverberg (upper-body) is day-to-day and will not travel on their upcoming two-game road trip.

Silfverberg left Thursday’s game with an upper-body injury and will miss at leas the next two games. This is a tough break for Silfverberg, who is having a great season to date. The Swedish winger is on-pace for a career-high 22 goals and 27 assists this season.

The Ducks signed Jakob Silfverberg to a one-year, $850K contract.

In his first season with the Ducks, Silfverberg was limited to 52 games because of a broken hand. He finished the season with 10 goals and 13 assists (23 points) while playing mostly third line minutes. Silfverberg will battle to move into the top-six to earn a chance to play with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry or on the second line with Ryan Kesler.

It appears as if Silfverberg will be a healthy scratch tonight.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau continues to shuffle wingers in and out of his lineup as the Olympic break approaches. Silfverberg has produced recently, but lacks consistency. He has 15 points (6G / 9A) in 27 games this season and will likely slot back into the lineup on Saturday at Dodgers Stadium.

Silfverberg will be a healthy scratch tonight; Tim Jackman is in.

Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau is trying to rest his team leading up to the Olympic break and also does not want one player sitting for too long. It is definitely frustrating for fantasy owners, because it can be difficult to keep up with. I don't believe this healthy scratch is performance related seeing as how Silfverberg has recorded four assists in his last five games.

Silfverberg - Bonino - Selanne

Teemu Selanne, the NHL’s oldest player, opened camp alongside 22-year-old Jakob Silfverberg. Silfverberg, a Swedish winger acquired from Ottawa in the Bobby Ryan trade, acknowledged that it’s an honor to skate with a living legend. Playing with Selanne should certainly help Silfverberg's development this season, he has the potential for a breakout season.

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and a 2014 first round pick from the Ottawa Senators for Bobby Ryan.

Silfverberg netted 10 goals and added nine assists in 48 games in his first full NHL season. The 39th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft appears to be an NHL-ready forward who will have a chance to learn from Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.
