James Wisniewski News

Wisniewski (upper-body) is expected to be activated from IR and in the lineup on Saturday.

Wisniewski missed the last six games with an upper-body injury he suffered against the Wild on December 6. Wisniewski is one of the Blue Jackets top-scorers with two goals and 16 assists in 28 games. Saturday will be a good day for Columbus who will also get forward Marian Gaborik back from a knee injury.

Richards said #CBJ D James Wisniewski is close, and "may be ready to go tomorrow." Said he skated today & they'll decide at game time.

Wisniewski hasn't played since mid-February with a broken right foot. He had three goals and six assists in 15 games prior to getting inured. This would be a good addition to a Columbus team who has played very well in March.

All that was said about how long Wisniewski will be out was "long-term". This is another tough break for the Blue Jackets who continue to lose key players to injury. He joins Dubinsky, Anisimov and Jack Johnson on the IR. Wisniewski's fantasy season is likely over.

#CBJ coach Todd Richards said James Wisniewski has a concussion.

Wisniewski fell awkwardly into the boards last night and suffered a concussion. Wisniewski has been off to a solid start this season with 2 G and 3 A in 9 games, the only problem is his +/- playing on Columbus. No timetable has been set for his return, monitor his status as concussions are tricky.
