McGinn will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.
McGinn made his season debut on Tuesday but it was his first game in 10 months so he will rest Thursday vs. the Flames. Jayce Hawryluk will replace him on the Panthers’ fourth line.

This is seemingly more more of a salary-saving move by the Panthers than an actual need for a player like McGinn. The Panthers are eating 12.5% of Demers’ contract to send him to Arizona, but it frees up a spot on the blueline for either Ian McCoshen or MacKenzie Weegar. McGinn is coming off of a disappointing 17-point (9G / 8A) season in Arizona.

McGinn (upper-body) will make his Coyotes debut on Tuesday.
McGinn missed the first five games of the season, but he will make his debut tonight in New Jersey. McGinn, who had 22 goals and 17 assists (39 points) in 84 games last year, will skate on a line with Jordan Martinook and Anthony Duclair.

McGinn will miss his fifth consecutive game to start the season, but skated again on Sunday and is possible to return to the lineup on Tuesday. Monitor his status over the next two days.
The Coyotes have placed Jamie McGinn (upper-body) on IR retroactive to October 5th.
McGinn is eligible to come off of IR and play whenever he is healthy, but remains without a firm timetable for when that will be. He is not with the Coyotes on their road-trip, so they might not get him in the lineup until after they return home at the end of the month.

McGinn, 27, had a nice 2015-16 season with the Sabres and Ducks. He had 14 goals in 63 games before he was traded at the deadline, where he added an additional eight goals in 21 games in Anaheim. He finished the year with 39 points (22G / 17A) in 84 games. He’s a heavy dude at 6-foot-1, 205 lbs. and should file in on the Coyotes’ top-6 in 2016-17.

McGinn, 27, is a big, rugged winger with a scorer’s touch. He has 14 goals and 13 assists (27 points) in 63 games with the Sabres this season and will replace Patrick Marron in Anaheim after he was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers.
On Friday the Sabres acquired Jamie McGinn and Ryan O’Reilly from the Avalanche Nikita Zadorov, Mikhail Grigorenko, prospect J.T. Compher and the 31st overall pick.

The Avalanche are considering season-ending back surgery for Jamie McGinn.
McGinn has been out with a back injury since November 15th. He is going to be evaluated this week and the Avalanche will make a decision on whether or not McGinn needs back surgery or if he can recover without going under the knife.
McGinn is questionable for Thursday with a back injury.
McGinn missed his second straight practice on Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Capitals. If McGinn is unable to go, expect Dennis Everberg to take his spot on the third line.
The Avalanche have signed Jamie McGinn to a two-year extension.
McGinn tallied 19 goals and 19 assists (38 points) in 79 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14. 38 points is a career-high for McGinn, who beat his previous best of 37 from 2011-12.
McGinn (knee) will play on Wednesday.
McGinn missed the Avs' last three games after starting the season with three goals and two assists in 10 games. This is perfect timing for Colorado who just lost Alex Tanguay for two weeks because of a knee injury.
