Jani Hakanpaa (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Game 5 after taking part in morning skate.

Hakanpaa missed Game 4 due to an undisclosed injury and will be a game-time decision for Game 5 on Thursday after fully taking part in the morning skate. The 31-year-old defender has a goal, an assist, nine SOG, 16 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through nine games prior to his injury.

Hakanpaa was one of six Stars players added to COVID-19 protocol on Sunday and two more were added on Monday. As of right now, they are scheduled to play three games this week, starting on Wednesday but it seems likely that they are going to be postponed.

The Ducks have signed Jani Hakanpaa to a one-year contract extension worth $750k.

Hakanpaa signed a one-year deal at the start of 2019-20 following four years in the Finnish Elite League. The former Blues fourth-round pick spent most of the season in the AHL, where he had one goal and 12 assists (14 points) in 47 games. During a brief audition with the Ducks, Hakanpaa had one goal while playing 18:07 ATOI in five games.

The Blues have recalled defenseman Jani Hakanpaa from the club’s AHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Hakanpaa, 20, has appeared in 14 games with the Rivermen this season, posting four points (one goal and three assists). Prior to joining Peoria, the 6-foot-5, 218-pound defenseman dressed in 34 games for Espoo of Finland’s SM-liiga, recording five points (two goals and three assists) to go along with 34 penalty minutes.
