The Blues have acquired Jared Coreau from the Ducks for future considerations.

Ville Husso was hurt for the Blues AHL team so acquiring Coreau adds some goaltending depth at the AHL-level. Coreau once looked like a promising young netminder but has struggled mightily at the NHL-level and is 3-6-2 with a 3.57 GAA and .895 SV% in 13 games with San Diego (AHL) this season.

The Ducks have recalled Jared Coreau from San Diego (AHL).

With Ryan Miller leaving Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury, Comeau comes up to be John Gibson’s backup. The former Red Wings netminde has gone 3-6-1 with a 3.66 GAA and .895 SV% in 12 games with San Diego this season. He likely won’t see any NHL action unless Miller is forced to miss an extended period of time.

Coreau will start Friday in Columbus.

Coreau was pulled after he allowed four gaols on 16 shots in the Red Wings loss in Boston on Tuesday. Despite the rough outing, the Red Wings will go back to Coreau tonight on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Coreau has a career .881 SV% in 15 career NHL games, so he is an incredibly risky option in Columbus.
