Jay Beagle News

Beagle (lower-body) underwent surgery and is expected to miss anywhere from eight weeks to the rest of the season.

That is a massive timeline, so it's unclear if we will see Beagle again this season. The Coyotes claimed Riley Nash off of waivers from the Lightning to help try and replace Beagle in their bottom-6.

Beagle will get a second opinion on his lower-body injury.

Beagle is expected to miss some time with a lower-body injury that he suffered on Saturday. Beagle was seen on crutches post-game so it seems likely that he will be sidelined into the New Year. Look for Liam O'Brien to replace him on Wednesday.

Beagle (lower-body) will be back in the Coyotes lineup on Friday.

Beagle has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but is set to play Friday vs. the Panthers. Beagle will centre the third line with Antoine Roussel and Loui Eriksson and comes in with no points and a minus-12 rating in 19 games.

The Coyotes have acquired Jay Beagle, Loui Eriksson, Antoine Roussel, the No.9 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, a 2022 second-round pick and a 2022 seventh-round pick from the Canucks for Conor Garland and Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

This trade was all about dumping bad contracts for the Canucks, Beagle has one year left at $3.0M. Beagle was held to just five points (1G / 4A) in 30 games last season but led Canucks forwards in SH TOI/Gm (3:14) and ranked 17th in the NHL in Faceoff% (56.2). Beagle will likely centre the Coyotes' fourth-line and contribute on their penalty-kill.

Carlson will be a game-time decision for Game 1 vs. the Islanders.

Carlson missed the entire round-robin but practiced on Monday and will be a game-time decision for Game 1 on Wednesday. If Carlson remains out, Martin Fehervary or Radko Gudas will fill his spot and Dmitri Orlov will do a lot of the heavy lifting, including PP1.

John Carlson
Carlson (undisclosed) is questionable to play Monday vs. the Lightning.

Carlson was nicked up in the Capitals' exhibition game but practiced returned to practice on Saturday. Given the fact that the Capitals are already locked into a playoff spot, they may play it safe with their star defenseman. Head coach Todd Reirden said that Carlson's status for Monday is still TBD, so consider him a game-time decision and check on his status during warmups.
