Jeff Woywitka joins NY Rangers for optional skate Saturday morning in Stockholm, doesn't expect to play against Anaheim Ducks

Woywitka likely takes a few days to adapt to coach John Tortorella's tasking system. With eight career goals over 251 NHL games, don't expect much offensively from the former 27th overall pick.

Rangers claim D Jeff Woywitka off waivers, per source

The Rangers could use a depth defenseman with the injury to Marc Staal. Woywitka scored two goals and 11 points last season through 63 games with the Dallas Stars. As a teammate of Brad Richards, the team hope he will come to the organization with some familiarity.
