Howard has given up at least three goals in five straight games and is 2-5-1 with a 2.80 GAA and .911 SV% in his last nine appearances. Howard was scheduled to start on Tuesday but was forced to sit after his back “locked up” during warmups. However, Howard was feeling much better in practice on Wednesday and believes he will be available to backup Jonathan Bernier in Carolina on Thursday.
