Edmundson has missed the Canadiens' previous 11 games due to an upper-body injury and will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. Los Angeles. The 29-year-old had a goal, five assists, 53 SOG, 39 PIMs and a -21 plus/minus through 39 games this season.

Edmundson has missed the Canadiens' previous 10 games due to an upper-body injury and will miss Tuesday vs. San Jose after being a game-time decision. The 29-year-old had a goal, five assists, 53 SOG, 39 PIMs and a -21 plus/minus through 39 games this season.

Edmundson played just 2:21 TOI before leaving the game with an upper-body injury. If Edmundson is unavailable for Saturday's game in Ottawa, look for Jonathan Kovacevic to draw back into the lineup as the No.7 defenseman.

Edmundson will make his 2022-23 debut after missing the first part of the season due to a back injury. The seven-year veteran played 24 games in 2021-22, scoring three goals and three assists while collecting 35 PIMs.

Edmundson's rehab for his lower-back injury is progressing, but there's still no timeline for his return to the Canadiens lineup. Edmundson skated before Monday's practice but has yet to join his teammates for a team session.

Edmundson's injury is related to the back problems he had during the 2021-22 season. According to the Canadiens' head coach Martin St. Louis, Edmundson is considered out indefinitely because they "don't have enough details yet."

Wennberg has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury but is set to play Saturday vs. the Red Wings. Wennberg has picked up seven goals and 19 assists (26 points) in 60 games this season.

Wennberg will miss Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens due to an upper-body injury. With Joonas Donskoi going on IR, Kole Lind was recalled from the AHL and will likely take Wennberg's spot in the lineup.

Edmundson has missed the first 57 games of the season with a back injury but is set to make his season debut vs. the Kraken. Edmundson had three goals and 10 assists (13 points) in 55 games with the Canadiens a season ago.

Wennberg has been in COVID-19 protocol since January 3rd but "is available for today's game," according to head coach Dave Hakstol. Wennberg is officially a game-time decision but expect him to play in Colorado.

The Canadiens' COVID-19 list grew to nine players, one day ahead of Tuesday's game in Tampa. Edmundson was already on IR and has not played a game this season.

Wennberg was bought out by the Blue Jackets yesterday but signed a one-year "show me" deal with the Panthers. In Florida, Wennberg has a perfect opportunity to serve as their second line centre and get back to his point producing ways. He has not topped 30 points in two straight seasons but registered a career-high 59 points (13G / 46A) in 2017.

Wennberg had three years left on a six-year deal that carried a $4.9M AAV cap hit. The former No.14 overall pick (2013) had struggled since posting 59 points in 2017, averaging just five goals and 22 assists (27 points) over the last three seasons. Still, he has enough skill to be a No.2 centre for a team in need and a good enough two-way game to be a third line centre for a team with better depth.

Edmundson was acquired from the Hurricanes last week and quickly got a deal done with the Canadiens. This contract includes a 10-team no trade clause and will keep Edmundson in Montreal through the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old is coming off of a career-high 20 points (7G / 13A) in 68 games.

Edmundson is a pending unrestricted free agent that just wasn't a part of the future of the Hurricanes blueline. In Montreal however, Edmundson will help bolster a left-side that features Ben Chiarot (2 years left), Brett Kulak (2 years), Victor Mete (RFA) and the up-and-coming Alexander Romanov (2 years). It will be interesting to see if Montreal has plans to move any of them to loosen up the logjam. Edmundson doesn't provide a lot offensively but led the Hurricanes' blueline in hits (118) and was tied for second in blocked shots (91) in 2020.
