Bernier gave up three goals on 22 shots in the Red Wings win over the Stars last Sunday. Bernier made a massive stop in the final seconds to preserve his first win of the season. The Quebec native struggled on the road last year, going 6-12-4 with a 3.40 GAA and .899 SV%. He had to replace Jimmy Howard in two games vs. Montreal, allowing six goals on 62 shots (.903 SV%) in his three appearances vs. his hometown team.

Bernier allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Red Wings loss in Tampa Bay on Saturday. Bernier has not registered a win since February 2nd, going 0-4-3 with a 3.49 GAA and .893 SV% in his last nine appearances (six starts, three relief). Bernier allowed two goals on 12 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings blowout loss to Montreal last Tuesday. Howard lost in Arizona on Saturday so the Red Wings will go back to Bernier tonight vs. his former team. The 30-year-old has gone 5-9-3 with a 3.52 GAA, .896 SV% and one shutout on the road this year.

Bernier has not played very often this season and comes in on a personal four-game losing streak (0-3-1) while posting a 4.04 GAA and .870 SV%. Even with a solid matchup in Ottawa, Bernier’s .889 road SV% suggests that you’d be better off leaving him on the waiver wire.
