Justin Abdelkader News

Justin Abdelkader's left foot is sore from getting hit with a shot during the third period of Thursday's 4-3 loss in Nashville, but he said X-rays revealed no fracture. It's only bruised. He made it through the entire practice and said he'll be ready to play Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings at Joe Louis Arena.

With Abdelkader healthy, don't expect the lines to change whatsoever. Should he not be OK, the team will re-call a forward from the AHL.

Abdelakder was not injured and there was no penalty for the hit. Abdelkader got up and started throwing punches at MacArthur.

Following a hit to the head, Abdelkader likely won't miss any playing time. Last year he scored seven goals and 19 points, both career highs. Expect him to start the season on the third line in the latest reiteration of two kids and a goat.
