Falk will miss at least the next two games with a concussion.

Falk was forced to leave last Saturday’s game vs. Washington with what was diagnosed with a concussion. Falk will miss both of the Senators games this weekend and his status heading into next week remains in question.

The Sabres have recalled Justin Falk from Rochester (AHL).

Dmitry Kulikov did not travel to St. Louis, so Falk is back with the Sabres and will be in the lineup. Falk has no points, two shots on goal while playing 13:35 TOI per game in his first two games with the Sabres.

Falk, 28, has not picked up a point in nine games with Rochester, but will replace Dmitry Kulikov in the lineup on Friday. Kulikov is dealing with an undisclosed injury, so Falk will make his Sabres debut. He has 23 points (2G / 21A) in 171 career NHL games.

Falk, 27, has been a fringe NHLer for his entire career. The 6-foot-5, 224 lbs. defenseman split his 2015-16 season between Columbus and Lake Erie (AHL). He had four assists in 24 games with the Blue Jackets and nine points (2G / 7A) in 32 games with the Monsters. He will likely once again start the year in the AHL, but will be the first or second defenseman to get the call-up to the Sabres.

Falk has been a yo-yo for the Blue Jackets this season, being recalled and then sent back down numerous times over the last few weeks. He has four assists in 21 games with Columbus and seven points (2G / 5A) in 29 games with Lake Erie this season.

Falk has just two goals and four assists (six points) in 28 games with Lake Erie this season. He has recorded four assists in 21 games with Columbus and has 23 points (2G / 21A) in 168 career NHL games with the Wild, Rangers and Blue Jackets.

Falk has spent the majority of the season in the AHL, tallying seven points (1G / 6A) in 39 games with Iowa this season. He will actually report to the Blue Jackets with Kevin Connauton out for “a while.” Falk has no points and a minus-6 rating in 13 games at the NHL level this season.
