Holl will be a healthy scratch on Friday.

Holl has two goals, 12 assists, 48 SOG, 35 PIMs and a +16 plus/minus through 66 games played this season but will be a healthy scratch Friday. He will be replaced by Luke Schenn, who is making his Maple Leafs' debit this season after being traded for at the Trade Deadline.

Holl (illness) is expected to return to the Maple Leafs lineup on Monday.

Holl missed Saturday's game due to illness but was back on the ice for Monday's morning skate and is expected to replace Timothy Liljegren in the lineup vs. New York. Holl has a minus-3 rating, one shot, eight blocks and three hits sin 20:38 ATOI in his first two games of the season.

Holl (face) will not play Monday in Montreal.

Holl took a puck to the face in Saturday's win over the Canucks and will not be available for Monday's game in Montreal. Head coach Sheldon Keefe said he doesn't expect Holl to miss too much time beyond Monday. With Holl out, look for Timothy Liljegren to draw back into the lineup.

Holl will make his season debut on Thursday.

Holl has been a healthy scratch for all 12 of the Maple Leafs games so far this season, but will play in his third career NHL game tonight. The 26-year-old defenseman had 28 points (7G / 21A) with the Marlies last season and scored a goal in both games he played with the Maple Leafs. Don’t expect him to score in every game, but Holl does have some offensive upside and could be worth a punt in DFS if you are desperate to save some salary.

The Maple Leafs re-signed Justin Holl to a two-year deal worth $1.35M ($675M AAV).

Holl was a second round pick in 2010 and made it to the NHL briefly last season. The 26-year-old scored two goals in his only two games with the Maple Leafs, but spent most of the year with the Marlies (AHL), where he had seven goals and 21 assists (28 points) in 60 games. Holl is projected to be the Maple Leafs’ seventh defenseman this season.
