The Penguins have signed Juuso Riikola to a two-year, $2.3 million ($1.15 million AAV) contract extension.
Riikola will be a healthy scratch on Thursady.

Riikola, 25, came over the North America this season and served primarily as an extra defenseman for the Penguins. Riikola registered five points (2G / 3A) in 37 NHL games and added two assists in five games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).
Riikola will be a healthy scratch on Friday.
Riikola has been in the lineup for the last six games but will be replaced by Jamie Oleksiak on Friday. Riikola had one goal on 11 shots in those six games.
Riikola will be a healthy scratch with Kris Letang returning to the lineup.

Riikola has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but is expected to be back in the Penguins lineup on Monday. The rookie defenseman has failed to record a point while averaging 17:34 TOI/GM in his first six NHL games.
