Lehtonen stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Stars win over the Wild on Saturday. Lehtonen has won four straight games while posting a really impressive 1.24 GAA and .954 SV%. Ken Hitchcock’s coaching style has served Lehtonen very well. During four seasons under Lindy Ruff, Lehtonen had a 2.73 GAA and .908 SV% in 232 games and in his first 17 games with Hitchcock behind the bench he sits with a 2.22 GAA and .919 SV%.

Lehtonen is schedule to start in Arizona.

Lehtonen stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Stars win in Buffalo on January 20th. Lehtonen has won four of his last five starts (4-1-0) while allowing just 10 goals on 143 shots (.930 SV%). Lehtonen has not played a lot this season but has played well when called upon—he is 6-4-1 with a 2.16 GAA and .921 SV% on the road this season.

Ben Bishop has played very well as of late so Lehtonen has not seen any playoff time, but this afternoon he will make his 11th start of the season. Lehtonen stopped 32 of 34 shots in the Stars win in Brooklyn on Wednesday. With Lehtonen winning his last two starts he earned a third straight start tonight in New Jersey. In his last five appearances, Lehtonen has posted an impressive 1.94 GAA and .930 SV%. The Devils are expected to be without Taylor Hall again, making Lehtonen an interesting start again tonight.

It was a strong performance from Lehtonen who has now allowed just seven goals on the last 95 shots (.926 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he takes on an Islanders team that has surprisingly dropped four of their last six (2-3-1).

Lehtonen allowed two goals on 17 shots after replacing Ben Bishop (back) in the Stars 5-2 loss to the Predators on Tuesday. Bishop did not travel with the team to St. Louis, so Lehtonen will be the Stars No.1 option in the short-term. In his first start against the Blues, Lehtonen allowed four goals on 21 shots in a 4-2 loss.

Lehtonen allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Stars loss in Florida on Tuesday. With Ben Bishop hitting a rough patch, Lehtonen will get a shot this afternoon vs. the Oilers. The 34-year-old has gone 2-3-1 with a 2.48 GAA and .910 SV% in four starts and two relief appearances this seasons. The Oilers have gone 3-3-2 while averaging just 1.75 goals for per game on the road this season.

Lehtonen surrendered two goals on 11 shots after replacing Ben Bishop and was handed the loss last night vs. the Golden Knights. Despite the rough outing, the Stars will stick with their plan of going with Lehtonen on the tail-end of the back-to-back. Things get more difficult tonight as they travel to St. Louis to see a Blues team that looked good on opening night.
