The Blackhawks have recalled Kyle Cumiskey from Rockford (AHL).

Cumiskey, 28, has one goal and 10 assists (11 points) in 38 games with Rockford this season. The former Colorado Avalanche has nine goals and 26 assists (35 points) in 132 career NHL games.

The Blackhawks have placed Kyle Cuminsky on waivers so they can send him to Rockford (AHL).

Cuminsky, 27, had a strong training camp and stuck with the Blackhawks, but could not crack the lineup in the early going. He will head to the AHL for the first time since 2011-12, he spent the last two years in Sweden.

Kyle Cumiskey is taking his wheels to California or New York. The speedy young defenseman cleared waivers today and was traded to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Jake Newton and a conditional draft pick.

Cumiskey should see bottom pairing minutes with the Ducks. He scored a goal and eight points over 18 games last season but probably won't see much PP time.

The club also placed three players on Injured Reserve, defenseman Kyle Cumiskey (groin), forward Mark Olver (head) and forward Brandon Yip (arm).

Cumiskey may not have a roster spot when he returns. Last season he scored a goal and eight points through 18 games with the Avs. Expect him to catch on with another team if the Avs choose to waive him.

I’m not sure what the club is going to do about defenseman Kyle Cumiskey, who skated by himself today in an orange jersey. He has a groin problem.

By the way, Kyle Cumiskey has a groin pull and not practicing.

Doesn't help Cumiskey's chances of making the team. The former 7th round pick recently signed a two-way pact just to stay with the club. He holds very limited fantasy hockey value as a fringe NHLer.

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to a one-year contract through the 2011-12 season.

With eight serviceable NHL defensemen on the roster, Cumiskey will need to fight for playing time. At this point his fantasy hockey value remains slim.

I spoke this morning with his agent, Ross Gurney, and while he didn’t have anything to say on the record about why there has yet to be a contract, he did say Cumiskey is 100 percent healthy again following his last concussion.

Cumiskey claims to be fully recovered after playing only 18 games last season but remains unsigned. While the 24-year-old showed some promise in the WHL and AHL, his success has yet to translate to the NHL through parts of five seasons.
