The Red Wings have acquired Kyle Wood from the Hurricanes for Oliwer Kaski.

Wood was originally a third-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2014. The 23-year-old was already been traded three times in his career--first from Colorado to Arizona (2016), then from Arizona to San Jose (2018) and then from San Jose to Carolina in August. Now he heads to Detroit, where he will likely report to Grand Rapids initially. He has five points (3G / 2A) in 14 games with Charlotte (AHL) this season.

The Hurricanes have acquired Kyle Wood from the Sharks for Trevor Carrick.

Wood, a former third-round pick (No.84 overall in 2014), improved on his 2018 numbers, scoring six goals with 29 assists (35 points) in 68 AHL games in 2019. Wood will almost certainly open the 2020 campaign with Charlotte (AHL).

The Coyotes have acquired Kyle Wood, Alex Tanguay and Conner Bleackley from the Avalanche for Mikkel Boedker.

Wood, 19, was a third round pick (84th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-5, 217 lbs. defenseman has picked up 35 points (8G / 27A) in 40 games with the North Bay Battalion (OHL) this season.
