Marc-Andre Fleury News

Fleury will make his third consecutive start tomorrow vs. New Jersey.

Right when Fleury started started to lose some starts to Vokoun he found his game. This will be his third consecutive and 4th start in the Penguins last 5. He deserves the start since he has won 3 straight posting 1.67 GAA and .933 SV% in those contests. Fleury is one of the NHL's best netminders and you play him whenever he plays.

Fleury played well enough against the Islanders to earn him his second straight start tonight. He has now won each of his last two starts posting a 1.50 GAA and .940 SV%. Looks like he is back on track and is going to need to keep it up if he wants to keep his #1 job, because Vokoun is playing great.

Fleury wasn't busy in his last start against the Devils only making 15 saves on 16 shots. He has been alternating starts with Vokoun this season and has actually been outplayed by the veteran Vokoun. Fleury goes up against the Islanders who he allowed 4 goals on 17 shots on January 29.

Fleury starts tonight for the Penguins.

Fleury had been alternating starts with Vokoun but it looks like Fleury still remains the #1 goalie in Pittsburgh as he will get his first back-to-back start of the year tonight against the Islanders. Fleury is a great start because the Penguins can score with the best of them. Start him with confidence.

The Penguins will have an opportunity to even the series in Game 2 at 7:38 tonight at Consol Energy Center. If Fleury performs at -- or above -- the level he reached Wednesday, their chances of doing that should be reasonably good.

Unless something drastic happens, Fleury is expected to start every game.
