Foligno is questionable for Saturday due to a lower-body injury.

Foligno was forced to leave Thursday's game in San Jose with a lower-body injury and missed Friday's practice. Head coach Bruce Boudreau listed Foligno as questionable for Saturday's game in Arizona, so look for Victor Rask to replace him in Minnesota's bottom-6.

The Wild acquired Marcus Foligno, Tyler Ennis and a 2018 3rd round pick from the Sabres for Marco Scandella, Jason Pominville and a 2018 4th round pick.

Foligno is a big-body (6’2” / 215 lbs.) that has improved offensively in each of his six NHL seasons, setting a new career-high in goals (13) and tying a career-best in points (23) a season ago. Foligno will likely take Pominville’s spot as a third line winger in Minnesota, but doesn’t offer nearly any fantasy value due to his limited power play exposure.

The Sabres signed Marcus Foligno to a one-year contract worth $2.25 million on July 14th.

Since breaking into the NHL in 2011-12, Foligno has seen his point-production rise a little bit in each season, reaching 23 points (10G / 13A) in 75 games last year. Still not great production from the 24-year-old, but another one-year deal should motivate him for more in 2016-17.

Foligno (hand) returned to practice on Thursday.

Foligno has been out since December 21st after he underwent hand surgery. He was expected to miss six weeks, but today marks the five and a half week point. He participated in practice with a non-contact jersey, so he will need to shed that sweater before he returns.

The Sabres have signed Marcus Foligno to a two-year, $3.75 million deal.

Foligno signs a very cap-managable contract to stay in Buffalo a year after scoring seven goals with 12 assists (19 points) in 74 games last year. The 22-year-old has all the tools to be a good NHL player and the additions the Sabres made yesterday should help Foligno continue to grow.

Foligno (knee) will return to the Sabres lineup on Tuesday.

Originally, Foligno's knee injury was believed to be a structural injury, but turned out to be more of a bone bruise. He missed the last two games, but will be in the lineup vs. the Wings tomorrow. He has seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 70 games.

Foligno will likely miss the final six games of the season after his right leg buckled early in Thursday’s 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Foligno got tangled with St. Louis’ Roman Polak 1:58 into the game, causing his leg to bend awkwardly as he fell – but Sabres coach Ted Nolan said it wasn’t as bad as it appeared. “But he’s going to be out probably the rest of the year,” he told reporters in St. Louis. With winger Drew Stafford likely out again tonight in Detroit, the Sabres will need to recall someone from Rochester, Nolan said.
