Stone will not be making the trip after suffering an injury in practice today.

Stone crashed into the boards in practice and left favouring one of his arms. He was playing on a line with Jason Spezza so someone will get a chance to play with the talented playmaker while Stone is out. Stone is staying back home to he re-evaluated and may join the team later.

The Senators have recalled forward Mark Stone on an emergency basis from the club’s AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Stone, 21, has recorded nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 19 AHL games with the B-Sens this season. He missed 10 games after being injured during the team’s season-opener on Oct. 5 against Syracuse. The 6-2, 203-pound forward played in four regular-season games with the Senators last season, while being held scoreless. He also appeared in two NHL post-season contests (one in 2011-12 and one in 2012-13) and registered an assist in his professional debut on April 21, 2012

The youth movement for the Ottawa Senators continues, as 21-year-old Mark Stone will enter the club's lineup for Game 4

Senators coach Paul MacLean wanted a bigger body around the opposing net -- something the 6-foot-2, 188-pound Stone can provide. Due to his previous experience with Spezza, Stone is expected to flank the veteran center on the right, with Milan Michalek skating on the left. The move has made Cory Conacher the odd-man out. Stone had 38 points in 54 games in the AHL this season.

The league award caps a heady few weeks for Stone, who was signed to an entry level contract by the Senators after attending the NHL club’s rookie camp for the second consecutive year. Stone had four goals and five assists with a plus-3 rating to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to two wins and a shootout loss over the weekend.

Stone drew a good deal of press after signing his entry-level contract. Last season he scored 37 goals and 106 points with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He currently leads the entire WHL with 13 points.
