The Stars have placed Martin Hanzal (back) on IR.
Hanzal is dealing with a lingering back issue which ruined his 2017-18 campaign. It looks like that could happen again in 2018-19 as he has no timetable for his return.
Hanzal is out indefinitely with a back injury.
Hanzal’s back issue continues to linger, so he will come out of the lineup on Thursday and the Stars don’t know when he will play again. Hanzal could be in and out of the lineup like he was last season.
Hanzal (back) will not play Saturday but should be back on Sunday.
Hanzal has played in six games after a long lay-off and will sit in the front-end of a back-to-back. Hanzal has been solid since getting back to 100 percent, scoring one goal on 14 shots and one assist in six games.
Hanzal will not be in the Stars lineup on Thursday.
Hanzal recently returned from a long injury absence so they’ll bench him for the second game of a back-to-back. Brett Ritchie will replace Hanzal in San Jose.

Hanzal (back) has been cleared to make his season debut; could play Friday.
Hanzal has missed the first 28 games of the season but could play in the Stars next game on Friday. Hanzal has been sidelined since undergoing back surgery last March. The 31-year-old centre has always had a tough time with injury but had a difficult time offensively in his first year in Dallas too—registering just 10 points (5G / 5A) in 38 games.
Hanzal will undergo season-ending back surgery; rehab is expected to be 6-7 months.
