Hendricks (undisclosed) is getting close to making his Jets debut.

Hendricks has missed the first six games of the season and is likely to miss No.7 on Friday. Hendricks may not be a full-time member of the Jets lineup, but with Mathieu Perreault and Adam Lowry both sidelined, there’s a spot for Hendicks to see some ice-time when he’s healthy.

Hendricks will miss a few weeks with a lower-body injury.

Hendricks, 35, suffered a lower-body injury in the Oilers’ preseason game on Tuesday and will miss “weeks” according to head coach Todd McLellan. His injury might give a younger player like Anton Slepyshev and Tyler Pitlick a chance to make the club to start the regular season.
