The Sabres have acquired Michael Frolik from the Flames for a 2020 fourth-round pick.
Frolik is in the final year of his five-year contract that carries a $4.3M AAV cap-hit and gets acquired for the same fourth-round pick that the Sabres acquired from Montreal for Marco Scandella. Frolik has scored five goals with five assists (10 points) in 38 games this season but has played a much smaller role than in previous seasons. With Jeff Skinner out, the Sabres were looking for some wing help in their middle-6.
The Flames have activated Michael Frolik (lower-body) from IR.
Frolik is expected to return to the Flames lineup on Saturday, which would be his first game since November 19th. Frolik, how has seven goals in 20 games this season, will skate on the third line with Mark Jankowski and James Neal.

Frolik missed Wednesday’s game against the Jets with a lower-body injury and will miss at least the next two games after being moved to IR. Frolik has seven goals and zero assists in 20 games this season.
Frolik will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.
Frolik (jaw) will return to the Flames lineup on Tuesday.
Frolik, who has been sidelined for 12 games with broken jaw, will play Tuesday vs. the Golden Knights. Frolik picked up 15 points (7G / 8A) in 37 games before getting hurt and will return to his normal spot on a like with Mikael Backlund and Matthew Tkachuk.

Frolik is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.
The Flames are on a road trip, but Michael Frolik has been sent back to Calgary for further evaluation. There is no definite timetable for Frolik’s return, but expect an update to come over the next few days.
