Hutchinson will start Wednesday in New York.

Hutchinson allowed three goals on 13 shots after replacing Frederik Andersen as the Maple Leafs blew a 3-1 lead to lose to Florida on Monday. Hutchinson has been better since Christmas, but that's hardly saying much. Over that stretch, he is 3-3-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .886 SV% in six games but is a putrid 1-6-0 with a 4.73 GAA and .861 SV% on the road this year, so there's not much to like about him in New York tonight.

Hutchinson allowed four goals on 17 shots after replacing Frederik Andersen in the Maple Leafs 8-4 loss in Florida on January 12th. Hutchinson won his first two starts after the Christmas break but has now allowed seven goals on the last 33 shots (.788 SV%) that he's faced. If you're desperate, he is a decent option with the Senators in town on a back-to-back.

As per usual, Hutchinson is expected to start the second game of a back-to-back and draws a terrible matchup in Boston. Hutchinson has gone 0-1-1 while allowing nine goals on 74 shots (.878 SV%) in his two starts this year. Leave Hutchinson on free agency on Tuesday.

With Frederik Andersen starting last night in Columbus, head coach Mike Babcock will turn to Hutchinson on the tail-end of this early-season back-to-back. Hutchinson played very few games for the Maple Leafs a season ago, going 2-3-0 with a 2.64 GAA and .914 SV% in five starts. His first of 2019-20 will come against a Montreal team that lost 4-3 in a shootout in Carolina in their first game.
