McLeod missed the Devils' last two games of the season due to an undisclosed injury but is available and expected to return for Game 1 vs. the New York Rangers Tuesday. The 25-year-old closed out his 2022-23 regular season with four goals, 22 assists, 90 SOG and 43 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 80 games.

The Devils have signed Michael McLeod to a two-year, $1.95 million contract extension.

McLeod was the No.12 overall pick in 2016 and impressed in his first full NHL season in 2021. The 23-year-old centre scored nine goals with six assists (15 points) in 52 games. Combined with Miles Wood, the duo formed a strong bottom-6 line for the Devils and he will be a regular for them in that role again in 2021-22.

The Devils have recalled Michael McLeod from Binghamton (AHL).

McLeod is on a similar pace to last year, having registered 13 points (4G / 9A) in 24 AHL games. The 21-year-old takes Nico Hischier's spot on the roster and could make his season debut in Dallas on Tuesday. He has just three assists in 21 career NHL games since being drafted No.12 overall in 2016.

McLeod was a first-round pick in 2016 (No.12 overall) and will skate on the Devils fourth line on Friday. The 20-year-old is a great skater, who had 44 points (16G / 28A) in 38 games with Mississauga (OHL) last year and has picked up 10 points (3G / 7A) in 21 AHL contests this season. He replaces Stefan Noesen in the lineup.
