Reilly (undisclosed) will be back in the Bruins lineup on Tuesday.

The Bruins have acquired Mike Reilly from the Senators for a 2022 third-round draft pick.

Reilly is a solid bottom-4 defenseman that can provide some offensive punch, particularly on the power-play. With Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk dealing with injuries, the Bruins were looking for some veteran insurance. The 27-year-old blueliner is still looking for his first goal of the season but has collected 19 assists in 40 games.

The Senators have acquired Mike Reilly from the Canadiens for Andrew Sturtz and a 2021 fifth-round pick.

The Senators blueline is extremely banged up, missing three veterans (Dylan DeMelo, Ron Hainsey and Nikita Zaitsev) so Reilly will likely get playing time over Christian Jaros or Andreas Englund. The 26-year-old has only appeared in 14 games this season, picking up four assists. His contract carries a $1.5M AAV cap-hit and expires at the end of 2021.

The Canadiens have signed Mike Reilly to a two-year contract worth $3.0M ($1.5M AAV).

Reilly had three goals and eight assists (11 points) in 57 games for Montreal last year. Reilly shuffled in and out of the Montreal lineup all season but ranked third among defensemen in PP TOI/gm (1:25) when he did play. He will likely fill the exact same role in 2020.
