He has posted a fantastic .927 SV% over the last 12 starts, but that has only translated into three wins. One of those wins came in a 32-save performance in a 4-3 OT win over the Sabres last Thursday.

On Saturday he goes up against a Penguins team who have lost six of their last seven, but who might get Evgeni Malkin back in the lineup this afternoon.

Smith allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Coyotes overtime win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. It was his first win since March 5th and he now sits 2-7-0 with a 2.33 GAA and .936 SV% this month. Tonight he could string together back-to-back wins with the Coyotes taking on the Sabres in Buffalo.

Smith allowed two goals on 43 shots in the Coyotes 3-1 loss to the Canucks on Monday. Despite posting a strong 2.03 GAA and .946 SV%, Smith has lost each of his last six starts. Tonight Smith gets the call against a Red Wings team who have lost four of their last six contests, but are coming off of a big OT win over the Blues on Sunday.

So yeah, all these losses are not Smith’s fault, but hey they were earlier so…Tonight will be his third start of the year against Vancouver—he has gone 1-1-0 with a 4.15 GAA and .867 SV% in the first two.

Smith allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Devils on Saturday. He has lost three in a row while registering a 2.37 GAA and .935 SV%. He was pulled after allowing three goals on 20 shots in a 4-0 loss in his first start against the Kings.
