Mirco Mueller News

The Sharks have recalled Mirco Mueller from San Jose (AHL).

Mueller has eight assists in 25 games with the Barracuda this season. The No.18 pick in 2013 has been recalled because Marc-Edouard Vlasic (face) was placed on IR on Monday and David Schlemko (upper-body) is questionable to play vs. the Kings, so Mueller could make his season debut. The 21-year-old has one goal and three assists (four points) in 50 career NHL games.

The Sharks have assigned Mirco Mueller to Worcester (AHL) on a conditioning stint.

Mueller has not dressed for the Sharks since December 11th. With the All Star break looming, he will head to Worcester to get a couple of games in, before likely returning to the team next week. With Justin Braun out, Mueller will have a good chance to work his way back into the lineup.

Mueller will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game.

Despite being a healthy scratch again, head coach Todd McLellan said that Mueller is "not going anywhere." The 19-year-old defenseman has one assist in his first five NHL games, while averaging 18:36 per night. When the head coach says that you are here to stay, that has to help boost the young defenseman's confidence. Expect to see him back on the blueline real soon.
