Baptiste has picked up seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 34 AHL games this season but was held pointless in four with the Sabres earlier this year. His recall suggests a forward was banged up on Thursday and Baptiste should play Saturday vs. the Stars.

This is Baptiste’s first call-up of the season and he earned it by collecting three goals and two assists (five points) in eight games with the Americans. The 22-year-old has three goals and one assist in 14 career NHL games.
Baptiste, 21, had one goal and one assist in two games during his call-up. The Sabres are on their bye week, so Baptiste returns to the AHL, where he has 19 goals and 11 assists (30 points) in 42 games.
The Sabres had Sunday and Monday off, so they sent Baptiste down for a few days, but with Ryan O’Reilly still questionable, Baptiste has been recalled. Baptiste has two goals and 10 shots on goal in 10 games with the Sabres this season.
Baptiste, 21, appeared in two games with the Sabres earlier in the year, scoring one goal. He has picked up five points (3G / 2A) in five games with Rochester and will be in the Sabres lineup for Nicolas Deslauriers, who is out with a lower-body injury.
The Sabres have been hit hard by injuries to start the season, losing both Jack Eichel and Evander Kane to week-to-week injuries and Baptiste is the first call-up from Rochester. Baptiste has never appeared in an NHL game, but had 28 points (13G / 15A) in 62 AHL games last year and one goal and one assist in Rochester’s season opener.
