The Canadiens have acquired Nicolas Deslauriers from the Sabres for Zach Redmond.
Deslauriers is a bruising winger who appeared in 42 games with the Sabres last season, picking up just two assists and 38 PIMS. He is a depth forward for the Canadiens.
Deslauriers will be back in the Sabres lineup on Wednesday.
Deslauriers will draw back into the Sabres’ lineup on Thursday.
Deslauriers sat for the last two games, but will draw into the lineup for Cal O’Reilly versus the Rangers. Deslauriers has no points in 23 games this season.

Deslauriers did not make the trip to Winnipeg after sustaining a lower-body injury on a hit to the knee late in Saturday’s win over the Panthers. With Deslauriers out, Nick Baptiste has been recalled from Rochester (AHL).

The Sabres have reassigned Nicolas Deslauriers to Rochester (AHL).
Deslauriers averaged 13:10 TOI and scored one goal with a minus-9 rating in 16 games with the Sabres. He heads back to the AHL where he had 39 points (18G / 21A) in 60 games with Manchester. He has not suited up for the Rochester Americans after being acquired at the deadline from L.A.
