Ondrej Kase News

Kase (illness) will make his Bruins debut on Thursday.

Kase will play for the first time since February 7th and the first time in a Bruins uniform. Kase, who has just seven goals in 49 games, had impressive shot volume (2.8 SOG/gm) while playing under 17 minutes per game in Anaheim. Skating on the second line with David Krejci should help Kase maintain that shot volume and maybe improve on it, making him a strong waiver wire pickup.

Kase (upper-body) will miss at least two games.

Kase left Thursday’s game after colliding with Rope Hintz in Thursday’s game in Dallas. Kase has had a slow start to the season but it will be tough to replace him in the top-6. Troy Terry is expected to move up the lineup with Kase missing at least their two-game weekend road-trip.

Kase “is close” but questionable for the Ducks season opener.

Kase has not been on the ice since last Monday when he took an elbow to the head from Kings forward Jeff Carter. Kase finished the game and the Ducks haven’t pinpointed what is ailing the oft-injured winger, but he is “close” according to head coach Dallas Eakins. The only way Kase plays in the season opener is if he gets onto the ice over the next few days, so monitor his status leading up to Thursday’s opener.

Kase is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Kase was forced to leave Thursday’s game in Minnesota and is not expected to play on Saturday afternoon due to an upper-body injury. Kase has cooled off as of late, picking up just one assist in his last seven games but this would be a huge loss for a Ducks team trying to fight back into the playoff picture in the Western Conference.

Kase (concussion) is expected to make his season debut on Monday.

Kase missed the first 18 games of the season but is expected to play Monday vs. the Predators. Kase skated on the Ducks second line with Ryan Kesler and Nick Ritchie on Sunday and should make his debut there. The 23-year-old had 20 goals and 18 assists (38 points) in 66 games with the Ducks last season.
