Buchnevich will miss Wednesday's game in Vegas and Saturday's game vs. the Kings. He will be eligible to return Monday vs. the Kings and is expected to be replaced by James Neal in the lineup on Wednesday.

Buchnevich was acquired from the Rangers last week and the RFA quickly signed a four-year extension with his new team. In St. Louis, Buchnevich will play with either Ryan O'Reilly or Brayden Schenn and has averaged 25 goals and 33 assists (57 points) per 82 games over the last three seasons.

Buchnevich has taken his game to a new level over the last two seasons, averaging 24 goals and 39 assists (63 points) per 82 games in the two shortened seasons. Moving to St. Louis, Buchnevich becomes one of many unsigned RFA's who will be looking for a raise. Once signed, he'll likely replace Jaden Schwartz, who will be a UFA on July 28th.






Buchnevich travelled to Montreal with the team but will not play on Thursday. Buchnevich remains day-to-day and has not been ruled out for Friday's game in Philadelphia.

Buchnevich is banged up after getting in a car accident and will not be in the lineup against the Islanders. Brendan Lemieux is expected to move up into the top-6 with Buchnevich out.

Buchnevich was in a car accident on Sunday and suffered some minor injuries and is questionable to play Tuesday vs. the Islanders. Head coach David Quinn is expected to speak around 5:30 PM ET and should update Buchnevich's status at that time.



Buchnevich missed Monday's morning skate and will be a game-time decision against the Islanders. Phil Di Giuseppe was called up and is ready to draw-in if Buchnevich can't go. Monitor his status as the Rangers hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 pm ET.

Buchnevich set new career-highs in goals (21) and points-per-game (0.59) in 2019 while appearing in 64 games with the Rangers. Buchnevich has been a breakout candidate for the last two seasons, but 2020 looks like his best chance yet. As long as Buchnevich can remain in the Rangers’ to-6, the additions of Artemi Panarin and Kaapo Kakko should give Buchneviche plenty of talent to work with.

Buchnevich was originally listed as questionable for tonight’s game after missing Monday’s game wth an undisclosed ailment. However, he is on the ice for warmups and will look to stay hot tonight vs. the Senators—he is on six-game point streak, scoring four goals with four assists over that stretch.

Buchnevich has struggled this season and has just three goals and one assist in his last 16 games. Buchnevich will be replaced but Brendan Smith, who will serve as the Rangers’ seventh defenseman.

Buchnevich has been out since November 10th but is expected to play Friday vs. the Coyotes. Buchnevich has averaged just 14:53 TOI/gm this season but collected nine points (5G / 4A) in 14 games.
