The Tampa Bay Lightning got some good news this week when defenseman Pavel Kubina passed his base-line brain function tests and was cleared to resume full workouts and to skate.

Pavel Kubina on Friday said he still hopes to play in the playoffs. But the Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman, out six games with concussion-like symptoms, did not deny he still has headaches, is still not skating and still cannot watch games from the press box because of the sensory overload.
Tampa Bay Lightning coach Guy Boucher provided a quick, though not promising update on the status of defenseman Pavel Kubina, who did not make the trip with the team to Boston for Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference final. And if Boucher's dour assessment is correct, there certainly are questions of whether we will see Kubina again in the post season.
