Rinne leads the Predators onto the ice for warmups.

Rinne stopped all 29 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Blackhawks on Sunday. It was a great outing against a great team. Rinne had lost each of his previous three starts with 13 goals against. Tonight, he will get the call against the 44-21-6 Avalanche.

Rinne was yanked halfway through Friday's win over the Flames. Rinne allowed four goals on 18 shots before exiting the game and watching Carter Hutton mop things up. Since returning from an E. coli infection, Rinne has gone 2-5-0 with a 3.25 GAA and .889 SV% in eight starts. Tonight, he will take on a dangerous Blackhawks squad.

Rinne was pulled after he allowed five goals on 26 shots in a loss to the Oilers on Tuesday. He was given the following night off, but in his last two starts Rinne has allowed nine goals on 52 shots (.827 SV%). Tonight, he will look to rebound as he faces the up-start Flames in Calgary.

Rinne allowed four goals on 26 shots in Saturday's loss to the Blues. Rinne has gone 2-4-0 in six starts since returning to the Predators crease. While the record is not great, you have to note that he has posted a 2.50 GAA and .913 while facing the Blues (twice), Blackhawks, Penguins , Blue Jackets and Sens… Not the best matchups to say the least. The worst part of it all for Rinne, is that his teammates have scored just 10 goals (1.67 G/PG) in his six starts.

Rinne stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 3-2 win over the Blackhawks last night. He has won each of his last two starts while stopping 65 of 70 shots (.929 SV%). He will get the start in both games of the back-to-back set, but draws another ugly matchup tonight with the Blues in town. Rinne has gone 0-2-0 with a 4.38 GAA and .821 SV% in his first two starts vs. St. Louis.

Rinne stopped 34 of 37 shots in a 4-3 OT win over the Senators on Monday. It was his first win since returning from an E. coli infection. After getting Tuesday night off, Rinne will be back in the crease tonight in Chicago. It is a tough matchup against the NHL's highest scoring team. The Hawks average 3.33 goals per game through their first 66 games.

Rinne stopped 35 of 36 shots, but the Predators were unable to solve Sergei Bobrovsky at the other end which left Rinne on the wrong end of a 1-0 final. He will make his fourth consecutive start tonight in Ottawa. Rinne is still searching for his first W since returning, but he has played well registering a 2.04 GAA and .922 SV% in his first three starts.

Rinne stopped 20 of 22 shots in a loss to the Blues on Thursday He has now allowed five goals on 41 shots (.878 SV%) since returning from a long layoff. Tonight it looks like he will go head-to-head with Sergei Bobrovsky as the Blue Jackets are in town. It is a fairly strong matchup for Rinne to record his first win since October 19.

Rinne stopped 20 of 22 shots in a loss to the Blues on Thursday He has now allowed five goals on 41 shots (.878 SV%) since returning from a long layoff. Tonight it looks like he will go head-to-head with Sergei Bobrovsky as the Blue Jackets are in town. It is a fairly strong matchup for Rinne to record his first win since October 19.

Rinne allowed three goals on 19 shots in a loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday. His long awaited return did not go that well, but he looked comfortable between the pipes against on of the best offences in the NHL. Things do not get any easier for Rinne tonight as he takes on Ryan Miller and the Blues.

Rinne will make his first NHL start since October 22 when he takes on the Penguins Tuesday. He coasted to two victories during his conditioning stint with Milwaukee (AHL), but he gets a tough test right out of the gate with the Penguins in town. Before getting hurt, Rinne was 4-4-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .917 SV%, pretty close to his career numbers and likely what you can expect out of him over the next 21 games. However, be cautious with tonight's matchup.

Rinne (hip) has finished his conditioning assignment and is back with the Predators this morning.

Rinne won both of his starts with Milwaukee (AHL) while posting a 0.99 GAA and .943 SV%, however he only faced 35 shots in two games. Rinne could make his return to the Preds cage on Tuesday vs. the Penguins.

Rinne has been sidelined since October with a bacterial infection following surgery to his hip. His assignment is a great sign that he is close to a return. He will likely start one or two games with Milwaukee to get him back into game shape at which point he will be recalled and presumably retain his job as the Predators starter.

Predators head coach Barry Trotz said that Rinne has a chance to play on the homestand (Feb 27-Mar 8) in a radio interview on Wednesday morning. Most thought that Rinne was still a few weeks away from game action, but this is great news for the Predators who sit four points out of the final wild card spot in the West. Rinne is owned in 84% of Yahoo! leagues, if you are in a league where he was dropped, he makes for a great pickup as the fantasy playoffs approach.

Rinne (hip) has been cleared by doctors to increase his physical activity, and now Nashville has to decide what’s next for the two-time Vezina Trophy finalist.

The Predators announced that Rinne had been cleared for the next step of his recovery after meeting with doctors earlier Monday. Coach Barry Trotz said a meeting was planned for later Monday to set a weekly plan for Rinne. The goalie has been sidelined since arthroscopic surgery on his left hip Oct. 24 as a result of a bacterial infection. The infection developed in the same hip surgically repaired May 9 after last season. Rinne started practising Feb. 19 and has worked a bit more each day. Rinne is 4-4-1 in the nine games he has played this season.

This is the first bit of positive news that we have heard from the Predators on Rinne's injury. He remains without a timetable and may not play this season, but at least he is back on the ice.

This is the next step in Rinne's recovery from a bacterial infection in his hip. There is still no timetable for his return, but every step in the right direction is a positive for the Predators.

Predators goalie Pekka Rinne's recovery from a hip infection will be at least two weeks slower with doctors recommending he continue limiting his activity. The Predators had hoped Rinne could pick up his rehabilitation Friday. In a statement posted on the team's website, the Predators said Rinne has not had a setback.

"However, as we have realized and learned throughout this process, the recovery and rehabilitation from a bacterial infection does not involve a specific timetable," according to the team's statement. "It does come with a degree of uncertainty." The Predators say every precaution is being taken to manage the bacterial infection with the goal of getting Rinne back to full strength. Rinne is being monitored daily by the team's medical staff.
