Mrazek made 44 saves on 47 shots in the Red Wings 4-3 win over the Hurricanes last Saturday. Jimmy Howard has started three of the Red Wings first four games, but Mrazek will get the next two. The young netminder will need to bring his A-game tonight as he is expected to go head-to-head with Carey Price, who has yet to lose a game this season.

Those splits earned him the nod in the postseason where he nearly led the Red Wings to a first round upset of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mrazek will battle Jimmy Howard for starts this season, but will need a good performance tonight after Howard shutout the Maple Leafs last night.

Detroit’s defence did not play well in front of Mrazek and if it weren’t for him the game would have been out of hand early. Tonight he will look to push the Red Wings into the second round, but he will be missing Niklas Kronwall (suspended) and Marek Zidlicky (concussion) in front of him.

Mrazek comes into play at 2-2-0 with a 2.53 GAA and .922 SV% in March. Tonight he will face a Senators team who have lost three consecutive games after winning their previous seven.
