Despite a superb effort from Joey Daccord against the Kings on Wednesday, it will in fact be Grubauer between the pipes when the Kraken travel to Utah on Friday. Grubauer was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss in his last start, allowing two goals on 27 shots in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Wild on Monday. The 34-year-old netminder carries a 4-1-1 record and .900 SV% into Friday night's matchup in Utah, where the Kraken enter action at +150 on the money line.

Seattle has been outscored 21-9 during a five-game losing streak (0-4-1), and hopes for better results on Monday with Grubauer tending the twine. Despite massive struggles in his tenure with the Kraken, the 34-year-old Grubauer has a 4-0-1 record this season, posting a 2.63 GAA and .894 SV%. Seattle enters Monday's contest as +117 home underdogs against a Minnesota Wild team that has followed up a seven-game winning streak with losses in three of its last four (1-2-1).

Even with an injury to starting netminder Joey Daccord, Seattle has failed to put their trust in Grubauer, leaning more on Matt Murray, but they will turn to Grubauer on Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets. Once considered a top-10 goalie, finishing as high as third in the Vezina voting in his final season with the Colorado Avalanche in 2020-21, Grubauer has been far from reliable since joining the Kraken. In 159 games with Seattle, he has a subpar 3.06 GAA and .890 SV% in 159 games (58-78-13). In three games this season (2-1-0), he has a 2.49 GAA and .875 SV%. Seattle enters the action on Thursday as +125 home underdogs against a Winnipeg team that has scored one goal or fewer in three of its last four games (1-3-0).

Grubauer will occupy Seattle's crease for the first time this season when the team visits the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. The 33-year-old Grubauer has shown little value since joining Seattle in the 2021-22 season, posting an ugly 3.07 GAA and .890 SV% in 156 combined appearances (57-78-12). Grubauer had a career-worst 3.49 GAA and .875 SV% in 26 games last season (8-17-1), in addition to a seven-game stint where he was demoted to the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL). Seattle enters the action on Thursday as +127 road underdogs against an Ottawa Senators team coming off an 8-4 loss to the Buffalo Sabres last night.

Grubauer was the projected starter for Tuesday's game after Joey Daccord got the nod in Los Angeles on Monday. Victor Ostman will back up Daccord in place of Grubauer.

Grubauer will make his 25th start of the season when the Kraken host the Stars on Monday. Grubauer's last start came back on March 19th, when he allowed three goals on 27 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Wild. The 33-year-old netminder has endured another tough season in Seattle, posting a 7-16-1 record and an .873 SV%. The Kraken enter action on Monday as +140 home underdogs.

Grubauer will get the nod for the tail-end of the Kraken's back-to-back when they travel to Minnesota on Wednesday. Grubauer played well in his last outing, allowing just two goals on 25 shots in a 4-2 win over Utah. It was just the third time all season that Grubauer managed to secure a victory in consecutive starts. He has a decent chance of staying in the win column on Wednesday as the Kraken enter action at +135.
