Emery's signing signifies the team wants a veteran to help push Corey Crawford. With Anaheim, the Hamilton, Ont. native won seven of 10 starts with a 2.28 GAA and .926 SV%. Look for him to improve on his below average preseason.

The winner of the backup job should have decent fantasy value with the uncertainty of Corey Crawford's sophomore campaign. Considering both goalies are high-reward players, drafting one as a handcuff would be a decent idea.

The Predators will send Pekka Rinne (2-1-0, 2.70, .887) back into battle while the Ducks most assuredly will go with Ray Emery (1-1-0, 3.02, .909).
It looks like Ray Emery is indeed the Game 2 starter for the Ducks.
