Clune has been a healthy scratch for the last two games and has been placed on waivers with Scott Harrington and eventually Jonathan Bernier coming back from IR.

Clune, 28, signed an AHL contract with the Maple Leafs this summer and registered two goals and three assists in eight games with the Marlies. Signing him to an NHL contract forced the Leafs to make room on the roster for Clune, by placing Mark Arcobello on waivers.

Clifford, 24, has recorded 10 points (3G / 7A), 87 shots on goal and 66 PIMS in 57 games with the Kings this season. He is a big, heavy forward who is now signed through the 2019-20 NHL season.

Clune, 27, has appeared in one game for the Predators this season. He has even goals and 11 assists with 305 penalty minutes in 120 career NHL games.

Clifford had three goals and five assists (eight points) in 71 regular season games and seven points (1G / 6A) in 24 playoff games. At this point , it is unclear when Clifford sustained the injury, but he will be ready for the 2014-15 season.
