Luongo faced the Devils in his first start of the season—he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 2-1 overtime win.

Tonight he faces a banged up Bruins team on home ice, where he is 3-1-0 with a 1.99 GAA and .922 SV% so far this season.

Luongo allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Panthers loss in Toronto on Thursday. Luongo has won three of his first five starts while posting a 2.20 GAA and .916 SV%. Luongo will face a Sabres team that he has dominated in his career—winning 17 of 27 starts with a 1.92 GAA and .936 SV%. He is a must-start this afternoon.

Luongo allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Panthers’ win over the Avalanche last Saturday. James Reimer started on Tuesday, so Luongo will face Reimer’s former team tonight in Toronto. Luongo has won three of four while posting a 1.99 GAA and .922 SV%. The Maple Leafs have averaged 3.50 goals per game to start the season, but it looks like they’re all offence.

It was Luongo’s first loss of the year, but he still maintains a strong 1.98 GAA and .920 SV% through three starts. Tonight he faces an Avalanche team that is off to a 3-1-0 start while averaging and impressive 3.50 goals per game and that includes getting shutout on Tuesday.

He was given Tuesday night off as James Reimer faced the Lightning, but will be back in goal tonight vs. Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals. Luongo is off to a great start to the season, having allowed just two goals on 45 shots (.957 SV%) to earn a win in each of his first two starts.

Luongo turned aside 23 of the 24 shots that he faced in the Panthers’ overtime win over the Devils on Thursday. Tonight he will face the Red Wings, as he looks to notch his 438th career victory and take sole possession of sixth all-time on the wins list. Luongo was 2-1-0 with a 2.65 GAA and .918 SV% against Detroit last year.

Luongo underwent hip surgery six months ago, but is set to start the Panthers’ season opener vs. the Devils. Luongo appeared in 62 games last season, winning 35 games with a 2.35 GAA and .922 SV%. He will likely start fewer games this season with James Reimer in town, but remains a borderline No.1 fantasy netminder. Luongo should make for a strong start on Thursday against a Devils offence that should be improved, but still below average.

Luongo surrendered five goals on 26 shots in the Panthers 5-4 loss to the Islanders in Game 1 last night. Strangely, the Panthers and Islanders have a back-to-back to start the postseason, but Luongo will go again tonight, hoping to tie the series up at 1-1. John Tavares took over last night’s game and Bobby Lu was beat with regularity, but expect a much better effort tonight.

Luongo won his final three starts of the regular season and had a great year for a 37-year-old netminder. The veteran went 35-19-6 with a 2.35 GAA and .922 SV% in 60 starts and tonight he makes his first playoff start with the Panthers. He was 2-1-0 with a 1.96 GAA and .931 SV% in three starts vs. the Islanders this season—he has gone 32-31 with a 2.54 GAA, .916 SV% and five shutouts in 62 career playoff starts.

Luongo and Al Montoya are set to split the Panthers remaining games—Montoya started last night in Toronto, so Luongo will go tonight in Montreal. He has won three of his last four and is 2-0-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .931 SV% vs. the Canadiens this season.

Luongo allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Panthers win in Tampa Bay on Saturday. Luongo has won three of his last four starts with a 2.00 GAA and .939 SV%. He has played well recently and tonight he takes on a Maple Leafs team on the tail-end of a back-to-back—he is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .964 SV% in his first two starts vs. Toronto.

Tonight he will make his fifth start of the season vs. Tampa Bay—he has gone 3-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .942 SV% in the four previous meetings. Be aware that Tampa has won three in a row while averaging 5.00 goals per game.

Luongo allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Panthers loss to the Red Wings on Saturday. Al Montoya started on Monday, so it is no surprise to see Luongo back in goal tonight in Boston. The Bruins are on the tail-end of a back-to-back, but Luongo has struggled in March, going 4-3-0 with a 3.12 GAA and .894 SV% and is winless (0-2-0) with a 3.97 GAA and .871 SV% in his first two starts against Boston.
