Roberto Luongo News

He'll face Red Wing 'keeper Jimmy Howard, who leads the league in wins with 20.

Roberto Luongo is 9-10-5 lifetime against the Wings but was wearing a ballcap in the Oct. 13 game as Cory Schneider took the loss. Bobby Lou is rolling now and is 7-1-1 in his last nine decisions. On the season, he is 13-6-2 with a 2.48 goals against average and .910 save percentage. [Vancouver Sun]

“I already told Alain I'm good to go Thursday,” Luongo joked. We think, although he is good to go. “The neck was fine,” he continued. “I just didn't feel like myself for a little while there. Not that there's much oxygen up there to begin with. I had trouble breathing for a few seconds there. I felt fine afterward, just a little light-headed the rest of the way. I was just basically trying to catch my breath.”

Doesn't sound like Luongo will miss any playing time as he got the wind knocked out of him by a high slapshot. The Vezina Trophy finalist is likely to suit up in Sunday's game.

VANCOUVER — Roberto Luongo says his mystery ailment is better and he's again ready to play but, unless Cory Schneider face-plants in Denver, Luongo will watch tonight's Vancouver Canuck-Colorado Avalance clash wearing a ball cap.

Great news for Luongo owners and Canucks fans. Expect Bobby Lu to get the nod when the Canucks play the Phoenix Coyotes this Friday.
