Ryan Getzlaf News

Getzlaf (upper-body) will not play on Friday.

Getzlaf skated on his own prior to the Ducks’ morning skate on Friday, but will not play vs. Anaheim. This will be the second straight game that Getzlaf has missed after being a surprise late scratch from Wednesday’s game vs. the Penguins. With Getzlaf out, Rickard Rakell will centre the Ducks’ top line.

Getzlaf (upper-body) is expected to return to the Ducks' lineup on Friday.

Getzlaf missed Wednesday’s game with an upper-body injury, but took part in the pre-game skate and is expected to play barring a setback. Getzlaf is off to a much-better start than last year, having picked up eight points (1G / 7A) in seven games.

Getzlaf (lower-body) was a late scratch on Thursday; hopeful to play on Saturday.

There was no indication that Getzlaf wouldn’t be available for Thursday’s game in Arizona, but he was a late scratch, which means that Stefan Noesen will draw into the lineup. Getzlaf’s injury is not serious, so he is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday afternoon.

Getzlaf (appendix) returned to the ice on Wednesday; but not expected to play vs. Florida.

Getzlaf skated prior to Anaheim’s morning skate for the first time since having an appendectomy on October 28th. Getzlaf is eight days into a 4-12 day timetable, but he will miss his fourth straight game. Monitor Getzlaf’s status leading up to the Ducks’ back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.

A rough October has gotten worse for Getzlaf and the Ducks. Getzlaf will sit tonight’s contest out and could miss up to 12 days after he undergoes a non-emergency appendectomy on Wednesday. Look for Rickard Rakell to move up in the lineup with Getzlaf out.

Getzlaf and Perry may be reunited on Monday vs. Vancouver.

Getzlaf and Perry were split up to start their season opener but were reunited midway through the third period. The Ducks were shutout in their opener which is another reason that coach Bruce Boudreau will likely put the duo back together. Getzlaf had two shots and a minus-2 rating on Saturday.

Getzlaf missed the last two games while he rested an undisclosed injury, but he will be available for the season finale in Arizona. He will look to record his 25 goal and 45th assist of the season as he comes in at 24 and 44 in 76 games.
