The Flyers have acquired Ryan Hartman and a conditional 2020 fourth-round pick from the Predators for Wayne Simmonds.

Hartman was acquired for a first and fourth-round picks at least year’s deadline but didn’t have the same effectiveness in the Predators bottom-6 as he did in Chicago. Hartman has a nice blend of physicality and offence that should help replace losing Simmonds on the Flyers’ third-line. This trade allows Philadelphia to continue to fight for a playoff spot without losing Simmonds for nothing.

Hartman (shoulder) could play Thursday in New York.

Hartman was moved to IR retroactively to September 21, so he is eligible to come off of IR for tonight’s season opener. Hartman had 11 goals and 20 assists (31 points) in 78 games between the Blackhawks and Predators last year and will start the season on Nashville’s fourth line.

Hartman will make his Predators debut on Tuesday.

Hartman was acquired from the Blackhawks on Monday and will immediately step into the Predators lineup on Tuesday. Hartman, who has collected eight goals and 17 assists (25 points) in 57 games this season, will start on the fourth line but there’s a strong chance he moves up to at least the third line in the near future.

The Predators have acquired Ryan Hartman and a 2018 5th round pick from the Blackhawks for Victor Edjsell, a 2018 1st round pick and a 2018 4th round pick.

Hartman was a first round pick in 2012 and has built on a solid 2016-17 season, picking up 25 points (8G / 17A) in 57 games with the Blackhawks this season. With Chicago falling out of favour in the Western Conference and the Predators taking an all-in approach, Hartman brings a ton of versatility to the Nashville bottom-6.

Hartman (upper-body) says he will play on Sunday.

Hartman was a late scratch from Friday’s lineup but has back on the ice for the Blackhawks practice on Saturday and will play on Sunday. Hartman, who will skate on the second line with Patrick Kane, has seven goals and 12 assists (19 points) in 36 games this season.

Hartman is day-to-day with an upper-body injury; questionable for Sunday.

Hartman was a late scratch on Friday with an upper-body injury. The Blackhawks said that he didn't feel right at the morning skate so they held him out vs. the Golden Knights. Monitor Hartman's status heading into Sunday's game vs. the Oilers.

Hartman to make Blackhawks out of training camp.

Hartman has the unenviable task of trying to replaced the beloved Andrew Shaw in Chicago. The former first round pick (30th overall in 2013) had 35 points (15G / 20A) in 61 games with Rockford (AHL) last season and one assist in three NHL games. He is expected to make the team and start on a hybrid checking/scoring line with Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa.

The Blackhawks have reassigned Ryan Hartman to Rockford (AHL).

Hartman had one assist in three games during his call-up, but has been reassigned to Rockford, which suggests that Marian Hossa, could return on Friday, but even if Hossa isn’t quite ready, Viktor Tikhonov has been waiting to get back into the lineup.
