Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have signed Ryan Miller to a one-year deal worth $1.125M.

Miller appeared in 20 games in his second season with the Ducks, going 8-7-2 with a 2.76 GAA and .912 SV%. He wasn’t as good as he was in 2017-18 but is a steady backup option for John Gibson, especially considering Gibson’s health issues in recent years.

Miller led the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Miller allowed six goals on 37 shots in the Ducks loss in Calgary last Friday. Miller has lost four consecutive starts while allowing a combined 18 goals on 116 shots (.845 SV%). However, he offers some decent spot-start value for desperate owners as the Flames are expected to sit at least seven player from their regular lineup.

Miller has been excellent since returning from injury, going 2-1-0 with a 1.35 GAA, .952 SV% and one shutout. Kevin Boyle will start in Vancouver with Miller out.

Miller is expected to miss six weeks with a sprained MCL.

Miller was hurt against the Devils on Sunday and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The Ducks are expecting Miller to miss six weeks, so they’ve claimed Chad Johnson off of waivers from the Blues. This injury shouldn’t affect the Ducks too much, John Gibson has started 78 percent of their games so far.
