Ryan Miller News

Miller in goal for the Sabres.

Mller had his first subpar performance of the season on Thursday. He allowed four goals on 33 shots in a 4-1 loss to Columbus. He is now 0-3-0 but that is not his fault. His 2.37 GAA and .938 SV% is more than acceptable, but the Sabres can't generate any offence. Against Chicago today, I don't suspect that will change.

After sitting out two games with a groin injury, Miller will return to cage tonight against the Blue Jackets. He has played well so far posting a 1.53 GAA and .963 SV% in his first two starts. He will look to continue his strong play and get the Sabres their first win this season.

Sabres head coach Ron Rolston says Miller is ready and available to play Thursday.

"I knew it was pretty minor. I was just being cautious. Jhonas [Enroth] was going to play in Pittsburgh anyways so I just took that opportunity to rest," Miller told the Sabres' website. "It just lingered a little longer and I wanted to make sure I clear up any issues because if you don't take care of it the right way it turns into weeks. Hopefully I get back in the rhythm where I was at and I'll go again."

Ryan Miller is not on the ice at Sabres practice after missing last game with sore groin. He was supposed to be back for Tuesday's game.

Miller has had a great start to the season. Although he is 0-2 he has posted a 1.53 GAA and .963 SV% in his first two starts. Expect an update on Miller after practice. If he can not go, Jhonas Enroth would likely get his second start in a row.

Darcy Regier says Ryan Miller has lower-body injury that is "not serious, very short term in nature."

The Sabres brought their third goalie Matt Hackett to practice this morning in case Miller cannot dress. It is a good thing the injury is not expected to be serious because Miller has had a fantastic start to the season. He has stopped 77 of 80 shots in two games so far, but the Sabres have only scored one goal in front of him.

Ryan Miller is starting for the Sabres.

Miller played great in the season opener stopping 32 of 34 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Red Wings. He will go again tonight in the Sabres home opener vs. Craig Anderson and the Ottawa Senators.

Ryan Miller will start tonight.

In 2013-14, Ryan Miller had the worst GAA of his career (2.81) but hi SV% stayed about the same as it had in past years (.915). The Sabres were not very good last year and did not add much this year. They are also in one of the toughest divisions in the NHL. The one positive for Miller owners is that he is in the last year of his contract. Usually that contract year brings out the best of players as they look for a big payday. Miller is still a strong number-2 fantasy option.

Miller will start for the Sabres.

Miller allowed two goals on 42 shots in a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday. Tonight will mark the end of the season for the Sabres and Miller's 500th career NHL game. He has a fairly tough matchup against an Islanders team who has clinched a playoff spot.

Ryan Miller should face legendary Devils goalie Martin Brodeur in net.

Miller has started April off on the right foot, going 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .947 SV% in his first two starts this month. He has a solid matchup against a Devils team who is struggling without Ilya Kovalchuk. New Jersey has lost six in a row.

Miller will get the start tonight in Pittsburgh vs. Vokoun

Miller allowed two goals on 31 shots and the Sabres could not solve Anton Khudobin at the other end, losing 2-0 on Sunday. He has a tough matchup tonight vs. the Penguins. Look elsewhere.

#Sabres Ryan Miller was just on the bench doing his pregame routine ... looks like he'll get the start.

A late confirm means it'll be tough to get MIller into your lineup, but he has a tough matchup anyways against the B's. On the season MIller is 11-14-5 with a .911% and 0 shutouts, well below his usual numbers.
