Ryan Strome News

Strome will make his first appearance of the New Year after serving as a healthy scratch in each of Anaheim's last two games. Strome has appeared in 21 games this season, logging two goals and four assists.

Ross Johnston will draw back into Anaheim's lineup on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, sending Strome to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 32-year-old Strome has been a healthy scratch several times and has seemingly fallen out of favor in Anaheim, averaging a career-low 11:51 time-on-ice and scoring only six points (2G / 4A) in 21 games.

Strome was a healthy scratch in Anaheim's previous two games, but will return to the lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals. The 32-year-old veteran forward has three points (1G / 2A) in nine games this season.

Strome will take a seat on Monday as Anaheim opts to get some fresh legs into the lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Ian Moore will play in his place.

Strome has battled an upper-body injury that has delayed the start of the season, but he will debut on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings. The 32-year-old Strome is entering his fourth season with the Ducks and has been remarkably consistent, finishing each of his previous three seasons with 41 points. That said, he is unlikely to match those totals after missing the first 16 games of the season.

Strome did not practice on Monday due to an illness and his status for Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks is up in the air. The 31-year-old Strome, in his third season with the Ducks, has three points (2G / 1A), 14 shots, and a -2 plus/minus rating through five games.

Strome is one of a handful of lineup changes for the Ducks on Tuesday as they deal with a mix of injuries and illnesses. He has three goals and 17 assists in 35 games with the Ducks this season.

Strome missed the Ducks' last game due to an illness but he'll be back in the top-6 for Sunday's game vs. the Golden Knights. Strome has had a strong start to the season, picking up 11 points (2G / 9A) in his first nine games.

Strome found a home on the Rangers' second line playing with Artemi Panarin for the last three seasons, tallying 53 goals and 109 assists (162 points) in 200 games--22 goals and 45 assists (67 points) per 82-game pace. In Anaheim he should play a similar role as the No.2 centre behind Trevor Zegras but likely will not have the star power of Panarin on his wing.

Strome has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury but was on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate and will be a game-time decision in New Jersey. All signs are pointing towards him returning, as he skated in his usual spot on the second line and top power-play unit.

Strome suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Sabres on Sunday and will not play in Pittsburgh. The injury is considered minor, he could even play tomorrow in Detroit. Ryan Reaves will replace him in the lineup on Tuesday.

With Strome out for Saturday's game in Montreal, Filip Chytil will likely move up to the second line with Artemi Panarin. Kaapo Kakko was elevated to PP1 as well.
